Good Neighbor Policy:
An explainer
Listen to this page
Overview
Welcome to the self-service 'explainer' for the Pre-Stay Briefing on the Palm Springs Good Neighbor policy as mandated by the City of Palm Springs and delivered by The Twin Palms Art House.

A set of
Good Neighbor regulations
Our local government has put in place a set of clear community rules that apply to all guests and hosts of short-term vacation rentals.
We recommend you read or listen to all three of the tabs below before your upcoming pre-stay briefing. Please also note that after the briefing the City requires all guests to attest to having participated and you'll be directed to an online way to quickly do that.
We greatly appreciate your participation and understanding.

The local standard of good neighborliness
The standards - known as the Good Neighbor Policy - set out our local communities agreed standard of behavior, that is what we see as good neighborliness in Palm Springs.
Below is the full version of the policy as issued by the City. Note that a summary of this also appears in the house guide.

Mandated in-person briefing
The regulations require that hosts not only share a copy of these documents with guests but also provide a short briefing on what they mean and that all guests 18 years of age and above must attend. Unfortunately this briefing cannot be in the form of a pre-recorded video and must occur no sooner than the 24-hours before a booking commences.
We undertake a short video conference using Google Meets the day prior to your arrival to get this done but can be flexible in terms of timing and the availability of a second round briefing to accommodate things like travel schedules so we can ensure all guests are covered. No special software is needed for a Google Meets call, just an internet connection and any browser.

We would expect the session to take no longer than five (5) minutes of your time and ask that you work with your party to land on an agreeable time slot in the provided three hour window (4-7pm) on the day before your arrival and then use the booking tool below to lock that in.

Mandated signed statement attesting attendance
Following the briefing attendees must sign a Statement of Rules and Regulations attesting that they did indeed receive the briefing. This statement is a document created and required by Palm Springs City. You will be given a password to an attestation form that will take no longer than about 20-30 seconds to complete.

Once that is done we will have reached the end of the regulatory process and we can all refocus on making sure you have a fabulous stay in Palm Springs.
